Approving Your Masters
To get a feel for how these masters will sound in the real world, make sure to listen to them on at least a few different speaker and headphone systems at both high and low volumes. The most important aspect of approving your masters is making sure you’re happy with how they translate to other people’s listening environments. If you’re happy with how the masters sound, then you’re done! The files I sent are the proper format to upload to a site like TuneCore, CDBaby, DistroKid, etc and release your music to the world through Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal etc.
Re-Mastering New Mixes
If while listening to the masters, you hear any small mixing, performance or editing issues that you’d like to adjust, new mixes can be re-mastered for a discounted rate of $25 a song. To book a re-mastering project, log in and click the ”Re-Master A New Mix” button on your My Projects page.
Mastering Revisions
If you’d like me to make any mastering revisions to the overall sound of the recording, please let me know! I’m not happy unless you’re in love with your masters. Mastering revisions of the original mixes are always free, but must be requested within 30 days. Click here to fill out the revision form, and I’ll get mastering revisions back to you ASAP.
Instrumentals & Radio Edits
If you have any alternate performance, language, or radio mixes etc. that you’d like mastered, new files can be re-mastered for a discounted rate of $25 a song. To book a re-mastering project, log in and click the ”Re-Master A New Mix” button on your My Projects page.
Embedding ISRC Codes
ISRC codes are used to track the number of radio plays that your music gets so that you can get paid royalties. Embedding ISRC codes is pretty easy, but most of the time you won’t actually need to do it. If you’re releasing your music in online stores & streaming services through a website like TuneCore.com or CDbaby.com, they will take care of ISRC embedding for each online store and streaming service, and they will provide ISRC codes for free if you don’t already have them.
If you’re planning on sending your files directly to a radio station and need ISRC codes embedded in your masters, click here to to download an amazing free app called ISRC Editor. All you need to do is open one of the master WAV files I’ve sent you, and enter your ISRC code, and hit save. My goal with giving you this app, is to make ISRC codes a little less mysterious, so that you can be 100% sure that codes have been correctly embedded in your masters. If you don’t have ISRC codes, the easiest way to get them is through TuneCore.com or CDbaby.com when you go to upload your files for online distribution. It’s free, easy and fast.
